Retiring last year we decided to make life easier and hire a smaller wheeled bin from a local company. The bin fitted conveniently into a tiny area of our garden. No need for a weekly collection where you pay even if the bin is almost empty - have a collection every couple of weeks or so for no extra charge.
One is obliged to pay for this service of course but it is not out of this world. Good value for money, the benefits are considerable and well worth it. The office staff and the driver are always helpful and very polite.
Wish we had known of this smaller and friendly company several years ago and it would have saved me a considerable amount.
